[He glares at her feeling his head swim and his vision blur.]

What's changed since then?

What's changed since then is that I'm sure you've met more people and made more friends. And they are people that like you and don't want to leave you.

*She looks down at her empty glass and slowly shakes her head*

Or...it feels worse because you've drunk a lot and haven't eaten much...

I don't have friends Sonico. I'm not some great guy.

[His voice is lower now, his chin resting on his chest as he exhales a slow puff of air.]

And that's not me being fucking depressing or woe is me sorta shit. I had one person in my life who fucking gave a damn and he left.

You do have friends. What about Tony? What about - me? You're a much better guy than you give yourself credit for.

*She is almost firm as she says it, quite put out that he would look at her and tell her he had no friends. But then she clicks as to what some of this might be about*

Who left...?

I'm pretty sure Tony cares about other shit more. [Himself for one, not that Terrance blames him.]

Corbin... twice now.

[Once when they'd almost been at the end of his thesis and again now. He can't make people stay and he'd finally thought he had.]

Maybe he does, but that doesn't mean that he doesn't care about you at all.

*She has never heard of this Corbin person before, but it's clear from the way he speaks that he was someone of importance to him*

He was here...and now he's gone?

*She asks it carefully, tentatively - but she has heard of other people round here losing friends to their home worlds*

But then...I'm sure he didn't choose to go. I'm sure he didn't mean to leave you.

He had already left once Sonico. He chose then. I just thought that maybe it was a mistake. I knew it wasn't but I had myself convinced.

[He moves away from her and tries to stand though he only succeeds in stumbling back to his seat.]

I'm just an idiot.

[sonicosuper]

Terrance -

*She watches sadly as he attempts to leave, and is quite glad when he falls back into his seat again. Sonico closes the gap between them and puts a hand on his shoulder to turn him to face her*

You are not an idiot. You're the least idiotic person I know. I am sorry that people have left you, that people have hurt you. But it is not your fault.

[He can't really fight her right now but has he turns the room spins uncomfortably.]

Just because I'm smart doesn't mean I'm not an idiot.

*Sonico just sighs and shakes her head slowly at him*

Are you just going to keep talking bad about yourself until I agree?

[rockcollector]

Probably.

[He admits with a slow breath.

The room won't stop spinning and Terrance suddenly feels like he's going to be sick. He leans forward resting his head on Sonico's shoulder.]

I'm such a fuck up Sonico.

[sonicosuper]

*While a little surprised, Sonico is more than happy for him to keep resting his head on her shoulder*

Oh, Terrace. No you're not. Not any more so than anyone else.

*That was her attempt at being more light hearted, but she's not sure that it helps, so instead she lifts a hand to gently place it on the back of his head*

Gee thanks.

[He doesn't sound all that cheered up.]

I'm going to be sick...

[sonicosuper]

*Sonico purses her lips shut together - she knows she isn't very good at the whole cheering up thing*

Sick? Oh no you don't, mister. Get to the bathroom.

*But in case there isn't time for that, Sonico scoots back in her seat and holds him at arms length*

Gah, the fuck. Stop moving, you're only making it worse.

[He moves his head to the table and for the moment enjoys the cold of the hard surface.]

[sonicosuper]

*Sonico just pouts at him as she takes her hand away, using it instead to usher down a waitress to bring a large jug of cold water. Seeing the state Terrance seemed to be in makes her hurry with it*

Okay, let's try drinking some nice cold watee this time?

[rockcollector]

This time? You make it sound like we did something before this

[He groans softly feeling discomfort rise in his chest.]

[sonicosuper]

This time, drinking water instead of alcohol, which is all you've been drinking all night.

*She drops a straw into the glass and tilts it to his lips in case that's easier*

Only like the last thirty minutes.

[In which he had six shots.]

I'm not moving my head.

[It's quite comfortable against the table.]

[sonicosuper]

You don't have to.

*She sighs at him and shakes her head slowly, nudging the straw to his lip again*

Just take a drink. Drink some water and I'll let you sit with your head like that all night if that's what you want.

[rockcollector]

[Terrance takes the straw between his teeth, glaring up at Sonico as he slowly sips the water. It's about half gone before he stops.]

If I drink anymore I'm going to burst.

[The room is still dizzy and now his stomach is full of water.]

*She meets that glare with a rather unimpressed pout, but slowly takes the straw and the glass away*

Okay, that's fine. How about something to eat? Or will that make you burst too?
